I feel like there’s more to the story... the emperor read barely any pages of her diary. Even if the emperor finally gained some emotions let’s be grateful for that. He realized his own faults and his mistakes.
don't get me wrong. I loathe men like the emperor, thinking that they're the only person in the world and having no feelings whatsoever.
the emperor reasoning to suddenly sympathising with the empress is not too convincing...
like why suddenly he sympathise her when all this time he doesnt even care? why is it so easy for him to change his feeling? he doesnt even know her for him to suddenly act like this... its not like she left behind big impact to the emperor or anything... i dont know why but im just not convince with that part.. its too sudden... he didnt even bat an eye when shes dying now just because of A DIARY he suddenly change? How?
this is just my personal opinion so like everyone can just ignore this and truthfully i really like how this is from the perspective of ml when typically it will be from fl... so yeah
