well then, we must be from different realities... Those characters think and act in ways I would never, which makes it intriguing for me cause I'm constantly thinking "...but why?" The people around me don't act like that either... so yeah, it is realistic but because it's so far away from me, I wouldn't say it's the most realistic manga i read. Sorry for the long response, I somehow felt the need to express myself on the subject lol

I said it's realistic because my brother and some of my friends would have reacted the same way if they confess or try to kiss them without permission but they are fine with it if their friends or someone they know is gay.
I just asked my brother and he said its fine as long as they don't like him but if they did then he would start to treat him coldly and probably feel a bit disgusted.
aaaaah yeah, I guess you're right... I was very focus on the main guy's sadism toward the other dude and the mind games he is playing with him... I don't think most people would even bother to take it that far. It's nice sharing perspectives with other people, it makes us see things we might have overlooked or not even notice! :)
