Even with smut scenes in BL and Shojou are treated differently, I’ll take (Lucia) as an example it has a lot of smutty scenes and everyone complains about it but when it comes to a BL who also have a lot of it and consent is rarely talked about no one bats an eye and it will be considered ‘hot’ they don’t even realise their hypocrisy as long as they get a fill of their fetishises.
