he was probably cremated, they dont just leave bodies in the graves in japan. But that's kinda unimportant, i wanted to say that the partly rotting corpse was most likely just an aesthetic choice and i think a perfect one at that, it just looks so cool
i also think the artist drew him like that to add darkness (idk lol) to the story. he/she wants to creep us out since the manga is dark.
it's not that dark but i wish souta retained his body because that's what makes this creepy. how could a corpse rot in just a few days? well, unless he's not embalmed. it looks creepy af, and the bone? GOD EVERYONE'S MESSED UP IN THE HEAD. the author (*i meant the character here) really did have the guts to dig up a grave, huh.
