I think when you've been craving family love your all life, it's not easy to reject it when it comes to you. Especially if you feel the person you(re rejecting it for is hiding a lot of things from you...

I know Jenette may seem like the accomplince to the villain, and that she is "ignorant" about the problems Athy has. However, that is only from an outsider's point of view. As shown is previous chapters, Jenette has always wanted a family, and she even kept dolls representing athy and the king. She desperatly wanted somewhere she can belong, finding her long lost dad was a kind of dream she always wanted. Sure, he might be evil, but have you read other mangas where the mc's dad is evil but the mc is still accomplicing it? People would do anything for family, and although Jenette and Athy were friends longer, Athy is currently hiding something while Jenette's father is telling everything. Who would you trust more? The reasonable conclusion would be the father who's more "honest" about things. The point is, every one is selfish for there own goals, everyone is ignorant, but you shouldn't point your hate on the innocent. Even Athy accept's the fact that Jennette is being controlled, but Athy doesn't hate Jennette despite this fact. Jenette is only a pawn in the grand scale of things, and hating on the pawn when the king is controlling the board is being "narrowminded" in my opinion (excuse me for seeming rude).

Yes but the way she is rejecting common sense and reasoning is unrealistic. She doesnt doubt or question anything her dad (whom she just met) says

I didnt say she was an accomplice. I dont think she is one either because she was obv tricked. I also didn’t say i hate her. I realize shes being manipulated but she is ignorant and selfish nonetheless. Shes also a terrible friend. She only sees what she wants to and never considers other people’s perspectives. I thought she was gonna see athy’s perspective in this chapter but then she made it about herself. Atp shes just pitiful and id rather not have anymore screentime with her. Its one thing to be clueless but shes something else.

Also it isnt justifiable for me to forget about everything someone has done just because they had a tough past. Thats like me forgiving hitler because his dad went to get milk and never came backShe has had no character development whatsoever

I don't really think she is rejecting "common sense", because she is shown to have thoughts doubting her father, stated in her questions with Athy. (ex, Jennette questioned if the king really used dark magic, to which Athy avoided the question to.)

You might not have said you hated her, but saying Jenette is "punchable", "selfish", and "ignorant" are considered negative words, to which I assumed you disliked her much. Also, there is two sides to every coin. She might be considered a terrible friend because she did not help anyone and harmed everyone by being ignorant, but her intentions originally was kind. I just pity characters who are malipulated, but I understand where your coming from. The majority probobly shares the same views, so it would be pointless to try and defend myself... (although I still don't really agree much with your opinion) /('v')/

I guess everyone's opinion on Jenette's character is differnent. I personally have the patience to defend and see where Jenette goes until the end, but some people (like you) might be fed up with her personality and dislike her outright. You don't need to forgive her or anything, I just wanted to share my thoughts with a grain of salt.

To your first statement... they are negative words because they are criticisms. Just because i can voice the criticisms of a certain character doesnt mean i outrigt hate them. I like jeanette outside of situations where she has to process large pieces of info and make decisions
