I think the "only thoroughbred can have thoroughbreds" means that their kids would be lions instead of horses too, that would also explain the cover page with only lion cubs and how at the end they say the family line will be secure cuz of the sister (tho I don't love the trade off of, for the older bro to have his love, the responsibility of lineage falls upon the literal child experiencing their first crush)
I like how they have to do a presentation on how their relationship would benefit their thoroughbred families. Even if the uke's family is an alpha family they're still herbivores. Ouga and the uke's relationship will look as though the herbivore is yielding to the carnivore, making them (horses) look bad.
Which I kind of can see.. but in that case, if Ouga should take the uke's family name then it's a fair trade, I guess.
