Once you get the money you need from him tell him to fuck off. Or don't tell him? Live your life, hire your own servants. In this time life it doesn't seem like the father has much influence at all. Is the only difference that she has been revealed to be a spirit user? Either way if he's blaming her dad it seems weird that her dad hasn't tried to meddle in this time line.
I don't know if the writer has considered that plot hole or if we just haven't seen her father act out yet. I do hope it gets addressed, because without it the Duke isn't fully redeemed yet. Right now he's done the minimum he could do to be nice to her.
