i think its because the prince still loves the previous empress ( cecilia ) but she died because of the grand duke so he might not like elena/veronica for that reason
Yeah and I can't blame him for that. He has a lot of reasons to hate Veronica. Unfortunately, MC isn't Veronica but he doesn't know that so she's the receiver of all his hate and the amount of stress and trauma that comes with it. It's not that he doesn't deserve her but more on she doesn't deserve to be in that situation again. Not saying he's gonna do it to her, but whenever they encounter, especially their first encounter, she obviously has a PTSD reaction. It's going to take a while for her to adjust and it takes for her to relive the pain and face her trauma to do that. Which hurst ngl
I feel kind of conflicted with the prince. It's obvious that he is the ML, but I can't quite accept him. After all, he abandoned her the moment their son was born. Maybe it's because she was pretending to be Veronica, and Veronica's family has suppressed the imperial family leading him to hate her. But still, the way he told that to her when Ian was born. Additionally, the way she reacted when she first met him again hints that he probably traumatized her or something but he wasn't very healthy in terms of her emotional and mental wellness. But still, the way she cried and ached for her son, Ian makes it so hard for me not to want them to be together again. Just for the sake that she could reunite with her baby again. It's just so sad seeing her cry for her son again and again. Thinking that she wouldn't end up with the prince also means she couldn't be with Ian again (since he's the father) and it's breaking my heart since I was really close with my mom
