Model can't be tan?
Yep, especially in Asia, the models have contracts and they can't really have a tan, they also can't change their hair - either dye it or cut, as they want, every change like that means they have to talk to their agency, have to take new photos for the book they show at the casting

Not only, also in Japan and China, but it's similar in Europe as well, the tan is a problem, if your skin colour is darker naturally then that's ok, but tanning is problematic (my friend was a contract model so she told me lots of stuff, she had contracts in Asia and Europe)

... Gyaru magazines exist in Japan, so yes you absolutely can be tanned and be a model, just it's very niche.
