people are used to the ml being possessive and infatuated with the fl, bonus points if he dotes on her endlessly lol. i think most of them thought this would be like the typical shoujo historical
yea, i get what ur saying but i feel like in typical villainess reincarnation manhwa (or really any other shoujo romance) where the protagonist is a bitch, it's deserved a lot (as in they really seriously wronged her) & it's a part of their character (like they're literally a villainess). also i can't recall how many reincarnation stories where the ml turns out to be the person who killed their entire family in their past life or something crazy lmao (so major major major redemption arc).
in this story tho, the ml is supposed to be sympathetic, and he's also stomping on the mc because of his past trauma, the mc didn't do anything. yes, he is a victim, but the mc is also a victim? the fact that he can't see past his own black & white mentality is the problem.
And neither can she, they both are doing the literal exact same thing and I feel like if you’re gonna hate, hate equally. At this point they just liking the Mc because she’s a girl that’s “different” and not because she’s an actual victim. They both are fucked up and they both are ignoring the fact that they need to communicate which means both should get hate.The ppl in the comments are the same ones that’ll be like “a male can’t get raped.” Or something like “he’s a male he shouldn’t be crying.” Etc. He doesn’t have to be sympathetic if to him there’s no reason to because there’s no communication. It showed multiple times that the few times the MC and him actually had the time to talk he was instantly active on what needs to be done. Yea it took some time but at least he’s giving her options to talk and speak up for herself it’s when she constantly shut him out or simply just ignore everything that he lashes out.
In stories like these I realize that everyone always hate the ML and not the FL. I personally think the ML is very realistic especially when it comes to that time period and the little we know about his past. I feel since a lot who read these are ladies they usually stand up for the FL no matter what. They would like the most stupid and evil girls because they are so called “different” but hate the ML when they give the same energy to that same girl that was just or still is evil etc. very weird
