So yes, I saw the cover, but I kind of forgot it as I progressed through the story so mid way through, I thought and was hoping for the untraditional route where they do end up liking other people. Woojin ends up with Yoojin/Eugene and Gayong ends up with Chanhee. I really was rooting for it to work out that way. Cuz I think sometimes you really don’t end up with the friend you like and y’all just end up remaining good friends. I think it would’ve been nice that way too, if they both can proudly hangout with each other with no romantic feelings and just chill. But it was obvious quickly when Chanhee and Gayoung weren't clicking at all that this story wouldn't be about them liking other people and remaining good friends. Regardless though, I root for all couples so, when Woojin and Gayoung finally started to merge and meet their feelings, I was so happy. They’re so cute. When Woojin was suffering from taking care of his shit dad and Gayoung really couldn’t do anything about it, I was so worried for both of them because I know that if they have a misunderstanding or get into a fight over things, it’s neither of their fault. Thank GOODNESS things passed without anything getting out of hand.

Now, onto the character I dislike. Incoming rant.

Yes, I dislike Yoojin/Eugene. She’s really not a good friend, at the end of the day, no matter how Gayoung wants to paint it. The thing she said about “I take one step backward and they take two steps forward” as if Yoojin isn’t the one to cause her to take that one step backward to begin with. First Yoojin gets jealous of Gayoung and doesn’t bother to explain clearly false rumors that she knows very well would hurt Gayoung a lot, then when things are over between her and Woojin and she’s with her shit boyfriend, she still displays obvious signs that she still likes her “friend’s” boyfriend. No matter how you look at it, Yoojin just isn’t a good friend. Gayoung hated her too so no I’m not saying Gayoung is a saint but she never let that hurt Yoojin intentionally. Yoojin on the other hand will intentionally let her hatred hurt Gayoung. I get that she can be worried that the person interested in her is also close to another girl, but that other girl is literally her close friend. There should be a difference between some rando girl and a close friend and how to confront the insecurity. The way she handled it is just not how a friend should behave. She apologized, but it was for herself. Like “I’m sorry my shit behavior caused your pain but I’m also pained by this, please forgive me so I can feel better about myself.” Gayoung should’ve never forgiven her. Hana was right. She is playing the victim and Ari was right to tell her off too. You can’t be the victim forever when you’re causing your own problems. I wish Yoojin’s part of the story should’ve ended there and Gayoung left her like that. Sometimes people come and go in life and Yoojin is that type of person.

Yoojin’s toxic relationship was also unnecessary because I don’t care. Neither of them became any different by the end compared to the beginning. Minhoon is still shit and Yoojin is still a plank, asking for advice about a shit boyfriend and not really bothering at all to take that advice either. She’s making herself miserable in the end and I just don’t care.

Overall, very good read.
