Samee even in the novel version I couldn't quite understand how much power the author actually has and *why* the author (spoiler )
-why the author reincarnated into her own book. The only detail I remember is that the author lived her dream life and kept repeating so she wanted Edith to have a soul from the real world. But after that, I don't understand who or what controls the book anymore or if they've become real or to each their own lives
Maybe it’s the creator of the world that’s trying to fix the mistake they made by putting the author in the book? The creator might have taken a liking to the book and when the author died they made the world for them? but the author wasn’t a good person so lize is forcing ppl into the story and the creator is trying to help break the cycle? By allowing the ppl access to the program the progress they make. Sometimes in these story the creators have limited control and power so taking lize out maybe not be what they can do? Just theories tho idk for sure
the author is the creator, the world itself seems to be governed by something different though. tbh, i see the world as kind of a game simulation (which is ironic since it’s the world of a book). basically, the game has rules. the author/creator is allowed special powers because they are the “main character”. this is why they transmigrated into Lize and why they are allowed to set the three exceptions on Edith. however, the author and the “world” they’ve been placed in (i’m gonna call it a game since that’s what it feels like even if it’s not exactly true) are not the same entity. the author is still bound by the rules the game sets on them. so a lot of interference like this (cheating basically) reduces the influence the author was given.
MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD ON LIZE AND THE AUTHOR.
I feel like that best explains why the author kept transmigrating/going back in time to the beginning of the story. It was like a crazy endless game loop in a simulation. These are spoilers for the author’s motive, but the author became bored with playing the same thing over and over again against NPC’s basically. After constantly reliving Lize’s life, even though she liked the attention, she started bringing in different “players” to be Edith and spice things up. Even before the first of the 13 Edith’s (our Edith right now is 13) the author had been Lize a bunch of times already. It just keeps going. The author thinks that if Lize is “defeated” and Edith gets her happy ending (and also basically transitions into the main character) that the story may not reset anymore. The author is scared Lize will grow old and really die.
If you read stories like Kill the Villainess (I'm gonna use that as reference). The FL there transmigrate into the story of a book, but there are laws that force her to follow the rules of the world (influence of the author).
According to it, the Author is the god of that world. However, when the story is finished, the control of the author will end & that world will be left without a god so it would go into ruin. Now, who decides those stuff?
In other manhwas, the book/game is actually a real world, and the authors are just writer who wrote it in the modern world as a form of story. There are also times when the book/game is actually a prophecy.

I really don't get the creator thing .. I think it would have been a better story if it was reincarnation or isaki to a different world instead of a novel and author stuff
