That's the point tho, we didn't come here for aroace rep cuz we know this isn't what we want irl so like why tf would we expect to see ourselves in a romance comic, which is why it's so weird to see a hamfisted additions of it in stories where all they're trying to do is "fix" being aroace out of the person yk? It's like the story along with society is telling us "it's just a phase wait till you meet the right one" just like what the person above said, they even showed his failed attempts at falling in love and having long term relationships with others and still not feeling "love" for them so you can't even really argue the author is going for a "demi" thing like we all know most bl authors don't really care much or know much about realism or reality of being lgbtq+ and just wanna write the same old stories which is fine whatever but like given that we know this story isn't trying to be nuanced about anything it's just showing being aro as a "hurdle" for the couple to go through before their happy ever after which feels gross...I just wish authors would leave us out of things tbh we anyways come here for escapism lol - like the entire plot line of him taking him on dates and shit to see if he finally feels something is literally trying to "convert" him and it just gives me the ick..

this was what i meant by this dynamic being "destructive" to the seme in my prior comment. if uke really ends up being truly aromantic then i cant see this going anywhere good for both of them since obviously seme wants the romance. on the other hand if the other route happens, you'll have people disappointed he wasn't really aromantic (which isn't uncommon in the manga scene anyways!) or maybe just convince yourselves that it was a 0.00001% situation so he still considers as one (which i generally dont agree on)
