Stop victim blaming. He realistically has nowhere to go and no one to rely on except this piece of crap who forced himself into Dan's life and made him feel indebted. Ofc Dan feels a certain way for him'he has no one else bc this guy ALSO keeps others that actually care- away from Dan. Your anger is misplaced. Frustrated at Dan? Sure you can be that. Angry? You are in way over your head. Dan has realistically done nothing wrong except try to form a better relationship with this Son of a bitch and he has recieved EMOTIONAL DEBT as the consequence of his monetary debt being cleared. I can totally see what you mean; however, think about the number of people who have been nice to him before Jaekyung…no one was. Now, Jaekyung isn’t nice to him and has not lied to him either, but to us he seems horrible because we know that’s a toxic trait. This kid Dan has only seen people beat him up or harassed by that doctor. This guy gave him a choice. A choice is a powerful thing. The thugs and the doctor didn’t.
Also, he’s confused that with love. Heesung told him that Jaekyung has never had anyone with him, others have told him that they see “a difference” on Jaekyung and for someone who is thirsty for love will see Jaekyung’s assholish attitude as nothing. Plus the guy allows him to live with him and so poor Dan is okay with it. It’s not Dan’s fault. He isn’t dumb, he’s just never experienced acceptance
Jaekyung has been an arsehole to him and haven’t treated him nicely in and out of bed, and he refuses to see it. Even in a few chapters back, he did recognize that Jaekyung doesn’t see him in that way when he was confronted by his ex boytoy and he goes “But still…”
He’s in love, he’s blinded by love. You get what you deserve. That’s the moment I stopped feeling bad for him. He KNOWS what he got into, yet still stries to see good in him and get all sad when it doesn’t go his way. I did not feel this way at the start, only RECENTLY because it became pure stupidity
I feel like chapter after chapter, my anger shifts towards Dan. He’s witnessed it literally every single day that he’s an ass, and he still thinks Jaekyung has some redeeming qualities. At this point, do we still feel bad for him? Tbh, at least Jaekyung made it clear to him that he doesn’t give a fuck, and everything he said was right. It’s Dan’s lovesick ass that keeps misinterpretating situations that just sends him in a ditch at the end. It seems like he will never learn.
