I really hate that in rl too. I had the conversation multiple times and always people try to tell me how important family is. Okay but mine is not important to me. And I'm fine with it.
Why can't people just accept this?
Ngl the whole trope of the mc trying to fix their partner’s family relationship was always annoying to me. Everything worked well for this couple. But I’m talking about other cases where an mc sees that their partner isn’t on good terms with their family and tries to be the hero and fix it. It’s so annoying when such characters don’t realize that bad family relationships exist. Forcing them to fix it just cause they believe family is important or are projecting their own feelings that you should be good to your family. Especially when the family treatment was terrible towards their partner, and yet they magically be nice after the mc mediates.
