Yeah I see where you're coming from. Though in all fairness rarely anyone speaks like this anymore.
Over time the English language has change, our environment plays a role in our way of communicating so don't take it too personally.
I had a professor who explained the evolution of English, he could read very old English stories fluently, it was amazing because what I saw on paper looked odd and very foreign almost alien lol but hearing the correct pronunciation and rhythm as well as meaning was very cool.
When I see stories, article, shows or movies with words unknown to me I find it fun, I see it as a way to improve my vocabulary. It makes you a little smarter but that's just my perspective.
I wish I major in English these special chapters are making me realize how poor my English grammar and vocabulary are
