I just feel sorry for him; he lived a very sheltered life, thus he had a very naive and inexperienced view of the world, and is too scared to stand up for what is right. I think this is by design by his father to easily manipulate and force him to become complicit. I was hoping he would get a redeeming arc since he showed potential of becoming good.
