i think his relationship with his dad is honestly pretty realistic, it’s a lot of hope and love that you still have despite the bad things they’ve done because you want to cling onto the idea that you might have a normal relationship one day
I guess, I don't know others but I wouldn't want to live with someone who basically ruined my life.
I have a good relationship with my dad because we have made it work. I've made it clear I can go no contact with him if he doesn't do the minimum to call himself a /father/ and even though I hold dear my memories of him, that doesn't mean I let him cross the line and take decisions of /my/ life. I always help him whenever he comes to the city and I'll still help him if he's ever in need (even if he did something that'd make me go no contact), but my dad didn't leave me with his debt, without a word, and disappeared years no end with no intention of ever coming back to apologize （￣へ￣）
Sohan's dad literally said: Heeey, saw you won the lottery, sorry about before, yeah, anyway can I live with you? Really?
And literally decided he has power over Sohan's live, relationships, and money. That doesn't show compromise or regret so I wouldn't keep him near me. Help? Sure. Nothing else.
Being honest, Sohan stresses the fuck outta me. Is he dumb? Innocent? Overly optimistic? I'm a pretty resentful person so I guess I just don't understand this whole thing with his father, like so unnecessary.
What more help would that fucker who left him with his debt need? He already paid a debt that wasn't his and his father wasn't the least remorseful, because before he saw him winning the damn lottery, he was playing around without a second freaking thought of his son.
