It's not that simple
Do you remember how many times Eugene sexually abused Ji-chan? In what world is talking it out the right and safe thing to do with someone treating you this way? Plus he didn't know he was Mido or really who he was at all other than someone who says he knows Mido so it's hard to be sure it's okay to talk about things that make you vulnerable with someone you can't really trust. On top of that Eugene was filled with revenge at first and probably would've had a hard time listening to Ji-chan because of all the anger.
I personally think this was the right timing because both of them have started trusting the other enough to have a good conversation without Ji-chan having to worry about Eugene hurting him again and Eugene no longer harboring feelings of revenge.
