The 2 people have to be awake

If you are sleeping and other people do that to you, its rape, even if you guys are lovers. Assholes boyfriends like to do that.

I don't know about rape but I will totally freak out if I woke up like that (⊙…⊙ )

Honestly I think it depends on the person in this case. I know that there are quite a few people out there who would be into their boyfriend jacking off to them in their sleep.
Not me personally tho. I'd find it extremely disturbing

It's rape . rape means you don't have the consent of the other Person to do a sexual act with or without force . And HE WAS SLEEPING ! He could have not giving him consent in any way .

If you dont give permission to the other part to touch you in any sexual way, its rape. You are slepping, how can you be willing ou giving permission to do anything when you unconscious?
I would freak out if the person im going out, did that to me.
If he kisses you to wake you up and then have sex, its different right, cause you can tell him, if you up to do it or not :))

You're right, in THAT context it is rape, however that ISN'T what happened in the manga. He liked Hyeongjo even before that scene, he may have been showing signs of resistance EXTERNALLY, but INTERNALLY he was okay with what was happening as shown by Minjae's text of "i never actually minded it". Note he says "never", not "i didn't like it at first, but i guess it's okay". If he says he "never minded it" while thinking back on how he felt DURING the sex scenes (excluding the rape scene where Hyeongjo thinks Minjae spread the rumor, that is honest rape throught and through) then it was consensual by definition. I'll give the definition of consent for anyone who wants to read it:
    noun
    1.
permission for something to happen or agreement to do something.

    verb
    1.
give permission for something to happen. If he wasn't NOT okay with it, then he was okay with it. He says he "didn't mind it" while thinking about how he felt DURING the sex scenes.

Notice how it says nothing about permission having to be said out loud? Since Minjae was okay with what was happening INTERNALLY during this scene it was consensual, he just gave permission internally. He resisted EXTERNALLY, but was okay with it INTERNALLY, in other words he was acting "tsundere" during this scene. The only scene that is honest rape is the scene i mentioned where Hyeongjo rapes him thinking Minjae spread the rumor, the reason this is an "honest rape" scene is because Minjae fights him off showing EXTERNAL resistance AND he later cries and hits Hyeongjo showing INTERNAL turmoil over what happened.

Meant to seperate the verb part of the definition from my next bit of text starting with "if he wasn't NOT okay with it, then he was okay with it."**

I disagree and agree completely with SugarySuga on this, while YES you ARE asleep, if you genuinely like the person touching you you aren't going to have rape pop up into your head when you wake up to him touching you... you're either going to be pleased or, if you don't feel like it, you'll say not now. You won't be like "oh my god! my significant other is raping me!". The only context in which touching someone in their sleep is NOT okay is if the two of you aren't intimate in the first place or you could say that vice versa, it's only okay to touch your significant other while they're sleeping because consent is implied automatically.

Really? I'm curious, is there any reason why in particular or is it just one of those things that automatically repulses you on thought? I'd imagine that if you're genuinely interested in someone sexually and romantically that you'd feel arousal or at the very least some sort of gratification knowing that they masturbate to you.

In this story's case I'd say it's important too to consider whether the place you fell asleep in and the people around you are the same as when you fell asleep, meaning they went to sleep knowing exactly where they were and who they were with and that context hasn't changed once they wake up... In the situation you described, a person usually knows where one is and with whom, (in your bed, next to your lover) but here it's not like Minjae went to sleep knowing he would wake up to find himself in Hyeongjo's house, with Hyeongjo next to him.
Iif you bring other, let's say, complex possibilities, such marital rape, into the equation, the definitions become even more blurred... Many people think marital rape is an oxymoron, but if you do take it into account, then rape would also be possible between a couple. As for consensual sex within couples, I think there are other factors to consider, like for example, whether you hadn't previously fought or grown distant or otherwise uncomfortable with your significant other. Many people think even coaxing sex from a partner as a way to fix things after a a fight or in order to weave other problems is not part of the "nice lover" motto (imagine if the other partner shows verbal reluctance). I don't think it's that clear-cut, but I think I understand why others would think it that way.

Yes, marital rape is definitely a possibility and so is it possible to rape your significant other. I'm not arguing this, but you also need to take into account that a situation like this would have been going on for a while for the "significant other" to develop the feeling of no longer wanting their loved one to touch them. For a normal, healthy couple (or in this case, one just now starting to blossom) the normal reaction is to be pleased. It isn't a normal reaction to wake up to your loved one having sex with you and immediately feel like you're being raped... you'd just be like "oh~" or "stop that, not right now". Who wakes up to the one they love having sex with them and is immediately like "oh god! i don't like this!" and then goes and presses charges?

I've had a crush on my childhood friend since...well, childhood. I can tell you that regardless of WHAT the situation was i'd be thrilled to wake up to him fucking me. I could go to sleep in my motel room and wake up in the middle of a field being fucked by him and i'd be happy and question it later... because i LIKE him. We don't even live in the same state, i could go to sleep and wake up to him fucking me IN my motel room and i'd be happy. I'd only ask him wtf he's doing in this STATE and how he got into my room after. Because i like him... anyone who says otherwise doesn't know how it feels to like someone else.

well good for you. I woke up to my (ex) bf attempting to have anal sex with me and was fucked up about it for a long time. I never gave him consent to have sex with me when I was asleep (especially something like anal) so I wish I has known then that it was rape. I felt incredibly violated, disgusted, and broke up with him a day later. If I could go back and figure out how to press charges, I would. Clearly you have never been in that situation in real life so how about you consider that before before saying you'd be okay with it. Also, I loved by ex before he tried to RAPE me so loving someone does NOT mean you have to be okay with that.

You're letting your personal feelings on the matter affect the way you speak. I'm actually NOT trying to say that "if you like someone you'll be okay with whatever they do to you", i'm just saying that it is a by-case thing and that not every person who wakes up to their crush having sex with them would feel raped. Obviously physical pain is a contribution to whether or not you feel like you're being raped, if you've never done anal before and the person doesn't prepare you it'll hurt. There is also preference and whether or not the person listens to you when you tell them to stop to take into account as well, if you wake up to your significant other doing something that you think is disgusting then of course you aren't going to be okay with it when you wake up and if they continue to do it, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES after you tell them how you feel about what is happening. Don't compare this to what happened to Minjae, as i pointed out, he has liked Hyeongjo since before this scene and we are later told that he "didn't mind it" from his mouth. It wan't rape. As i was saying, it depends on the situation. What i was REALLY saying is that its only rape if you wake up and don't like what is happening as the consent is no longer there, this taking into account that you and the person had been intimate in the first place since the consent is usually implied. I'm sorry about what happened to you

An unrequited love/crush for a childhood friend that has lasted years is nothing like what's going on between the two characters of this manga. These two haven't know each other for as long as that, haven't liked each other for as long as that, and most probably don't know each other as well as you and your childhood friend do. I doubt these two even know each other's birthdays yet. I'd say your feelings are bound to be stronger and more genuine.

Oh, i'm sure. But, i don't know about you, but I'VE personally seen a few hot guys that i would've been willing to have sex with right then and there, on sight. This is made even stronger for Minjae since he DOES like Hyeongjo. What makes it okay is that you have feelings for the person, which would normally imply consent for sexual acts with said person and the fact that Minjae didn't feel any negative feelings when he woke up and realized what was happening. He says he "didn't mind it", meaning he was pleased in some way when he woke up and saw Hyeongjo having sex with him.

Basically, if you have feelings for someone (whether just strong sexual "i wish you'd fuck me" feelings or "i love you" romantic feelings) you'd most likely be okay with sexual acts involving that person and as such if you woke up to them performing said sexual acts you'd be happy. The only exception to this is if the person is a stranger that you have no feelings for or if said person is performing an act that upsets you.

You're applying Minjae's realization of his feelings retrospectively. I'm not sure this is an instance where you can do that. It sounds like saying that if after you steal my candy, I decide to give it to you/let you keep it, it's exactly the same as if I'd just given it to you in the first place (in this case, the candy is Minjae's body).

That'd depend on how I think they feel about me. If I think they don't like me that way, once I wake up and realize what they're doing I might think they're just using me for sex or perhaps even mistaking me for someone else. And I wouldn't be comfortable with those two scenarios unless I was really really horny.

That's a popular response, however, you should note that Minjae says "i NEVER minded it", not "i didn't like it at first, but i guess its ok". The wording implies he never had an issue with it to begin with, not that he eventually accepted it.
