Yeah, the emperor is garbage. But I think his harem is less guilty. They aren't fighting for the Emperor's love, but for a better life. It's so sad that most of those girls are forced to love and get f by this garbage, they don't want to end up like mc was when he temporarily lost favor. Starved and dying.

That's true ..for me only the emperor is the garbage here ..the harem pretty much doesn't have any choice ..the emperor aren't that fair and benevolent monarch ... it's either you get his favor and have a better life ,or lost his favor and lives a life like a drown rats
But the Real emperor is the worst out of all of them. The guy not only has a harem (he brought the son of his Savior, the original host and kept him only to neglect him), he also tried to give mc the child of his concubine to raise, he indirectly cause mc to starve... And still have the nerve to say he'd make mc his wife.

I already read the novel version of this arc, so it's kinda annoying that the real emperor never got to suffer for real. He was a bad person to all his concubines, he only saw them as toys for pleasure. And mc has no choice, but to keep him alive cuz this world needs him to survive in order to be maintained. At the end, it felt like real emperor never actually loved mc. Mc died at the end of this arc saving the real Emperor, but only ml followed mc to death. He disregarded becoming a Dragon God or something and directly follow mc with no hesitation holding MC's body. While the Emperor lived his days convinced that mc loved him like that's the only thing that matters, he still kept his harem and went on his days... Mc only made him think that he loved him, because the Emperor is the type that would torture his own harem and those close to mc if mc leaves him with the truth.
