Because the story isn’t well written. Like they just dropped the plot about the ghost. Hopefully that will come back up in future chapters …

Didn’t they mention that it was acc a person and they played it off as a ghost so mc wouldn’t know the sketchy shit they do

If they mentioned it I missed it. Honestly I scrolled thru a lot during those chapters when the MC was being SA’d and held against his will.

Fair enough I skipped a lot too but I’m pretty sure they mentioning something like that at the start of s2 or maybe it was the end of s1 don’t remember

What the mc did see was a ghost it was the ghost of his mother. When he saw the photo of the person he saw in his grandmas room it was her that he saw, and the gangsters really didn’t see anyone. The ghost of his mother actually appeared again briefly in the start of s2 when the new guys in his class was threatening him and his grandmother, she scared them away for them

Feelings of love are not THAT easily discarded or overwritten, guys, even if trauma was induced. Keep that in mind.
That's why we have so many victims of assault or other things stay/go back to their abusers.

I do hope the author doesn't just gloss over it so easily tho and puts some effort into showing both sides struggling and getting slowly back together.
It gets quite annoying to see authors use such heavy plot devices, pretend there will be effort into fixing it up and then just POOF, sunshine n rainbows after 2 chapters~.
