You don't see strong willed and experienced bottoms like MC that often so I'm giving him the benefit of doubt that he's not exactly an asshole but just an unreliable narrator. Like, we see his POV and he talks down on himself and frames himself as always the wrong one, even when others got obsessed with him, he still frames it as if he had something at fault there when it's really just his partner's fault. That's why we as the readers also see him as an asshole. I feel like in reality, everyone around him talks about how he's actually really nice and considerate and the obsessed mfs are just assholes who are toxic af, that's also why they became so obsessed with him, cause he's just that perfect of a person. I want to root for them and I want MC to finally be in a healthy relationship so I hope he's just an unreliable narrator.
