Bathroom in Japan are amazing!
Yes age six kids can go to the bathroom by themselves.... but in America and in public... it's best to have an adult with the child... it's crazy in America. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Um, in THIS day and age at ONLY 6? No. I stood outside the restroom waiting for my son.
Maybe in safer environments but nope not in a restaurant at that age... you have to watch them even on the playground these days. Imagine going to a house party for your child's 6 year old friends and people coming in and out. My 6 yr old had to go to the bathroom and i was right there. Here in America things happen to kids even in "safe environments".
I was allowed to go to the restroom by myself at that age. And as long as the restroom is not far, I would let a responsible 6 year old go by themselves now.
I have been working in restorant for more than 10 years and I used to see parents let their children play unattended throughout the restorant, go to the counter ask for products alone in the middle of a crowd and even go to the toilet Without being accompanied. And all this happens in France or there are risks of theft and others. When i go to japan, people its much more confident. I saw them go to the washroom and leaving their laptop unwatch on their table. For my part I supervise my child wherever it is but it is the norm that the children of this age manages by itself.
