You’re totally right and she is right to be angry but in my opinion without illegal readers her work would never as popular as it is now, which is the case for a lot of webtoons and bls
Don’t get me wrong i know that she works her ass off and deserves getting paid for it but instead of coming off at the readers she should have said something about the whole system cause editors and authors are mistreated and underpaid
I mean most readers are pretty young or don’t have the means to afford buying digital chapters.
In a sense she is right but the way she came off about it is so wrong (+ it’s always about the international readers and never about the kr illegal readers)
Also i find it a but hypocritical for her to say that since she literally wrote a manwha about a guy trying to kill himself bc he is too poor to afford being alive (if i remember the plot correctly)

i get your point but not totally, poverty doesnt excuse anything. Like u said they work their asses off for this. Reading Bl manhwa isnt a necessary, we can live our lives without reading it, the least thing they deserve is to be compensated by their hard work. And i do agree that most readers of Bl are minor which is uncomfortable because the genre isnt really meant for minor.
Another thing. It is a stupid excuse saying that illegal sites make their art/story to be popular. lol no, even if thats the case, no matter how popular it is, they still get paid less since people dont directly purchase in a legal wesbite.
Myself included, i purchase majority of my reads on a legal website.
Purchasing a chapter even if its only 1 will definitely help the author a lot.
