Would it have helped much if he had said anything? "Hey I made a dumb wish and kicked an egg thing into the ocean and now people are being attacked" doesn't really tell people much besides who they can point the finger at.
Though for the sake of his friendship and own mental health he probably should have opened up about what happened.

I don’t think he was originally at fault either, but once he realized people were getting hurt or even dying because of what he did and still kept it a secret, that’s when it really became his fault. He knew there was a connection, and instead of trying to fix it or even bring it up, he stayed quiet. That silence let Gyani’s business suffer and let other people suffer too.
I see the person above me commented that even if he had confessed, it wouldn’t have changed anything and I get that. It’s true that telling everyone he kicked some weird egg into the ocean probably wouldn’t have solved the problem right away. No one would’ve known what to do with that. It might’ve even made things worse if people just blamed him without understanding it.
But confession isn’t just about solving everything instantly, it’s about owning up when you realize you might’ve caused harm. Even if it didn’t stop the attacks, it could’ve helped share the burden, or at least shown he cared enough to try.
So yeah, he’s not evil, just someone who made a mistake and let fear or guilt keep him from doing what was right. And now, offering himself up as bait to fix it… honestly, not necessary. I don’t think he deserves to die for what he did. But I also don’t think he can just avoid responsibility by saying “there was nothing I could’ve done.”
Sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t fix everything but you still do it anyway. But anyways that’s just my opinion. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I don't think that dude is at fault... Too much. He didn't know what that shit was, and tbh the only thing he is really at fault for keeping it a secret for this long. At least he should've said something along the lines of what it was
