Yes I agree, in this chapter his father was talking about not thinking your opinion is the only right one and being able to admit being wrong and see someone else’s opinion as right type of thing.,
I feel like this will be shown in the current arc with Seo-Sam “seeing” the kings point of view and “agreeing” with him, you know?
No excuses for bad behavior though
So u r saying that there is a possibility that Seo Sam is going to accept what the emperor did
" seeing someone else's opinion as right "
Hell noo
Poor Sam
But u know what either way he will end up with him , the author will justify the emperor's wrong deeds somehow and that's it
But I have a twisted feeling for Sam's father , did u see how his majesty the emperor ( the previous one ) held his hand and kept rubbing it ?
Why didn't he think that Sam can be projected to the same treatment in the Palace?
What does he know about love, empathy, common sense? Nothing. His mom doesn't love him, only know poverty until he arrives to the palace where he gets mistreated and almost left for dead.
A lot of us as trauma, yes, but he was isolated. Nobody had empathy so far gor him. You cannot grow up normal. I'm sure Sam will be the first one to act even normally towards him.
But after Sam arrives he will know what kindness and love is right ? He will learn more about emotions and will be able to make difference between what's right to do and what not , it's like his trauma will be somehow treated by Sam , he will be healed by him , so why put ur healer ( Sam ) the one who shows u kindness and warmth into all of this , why make him suffer just like u used to ? , when he already learned that what happened to him is cruel, why treat people the same way his father ( previous emperor) treated him
With all due respect but nothing justify his bad deeds, why ? Simply cause his trauma was healed by Sam, so there is no more reason to be like this
But as I said before they will end up together so my words won't change anything

Sam Yong is so precious kyaaa
I still don't like the emperor ( suffering in ur childhood don't give the right to make others suffer)
