is the samsin genderfluid? does anyone know if this is a translation error or canon?

can someone explain why in the chapter where they are introduced (47 i think), they use he/him pronouns to describe them, but in the next few, they clearly refer to them by "she"? i just wanna know if this is a translation error or if the character really does use multiple pronouns!! so cool if so!
