Those are very interesting points. I dont agree with the first since I believe the steps he's taking will prevent the extensive damage but not the event from taking place, but I could live happy should your theory come to pass.
The second part of it caught me completely by surprise... I'll have to sleep on it

My theory, but I think that the villain that he wanted to take revenge on no longer exist. because of the things that he are doing. I think that its resulting a butterfly effect where it changes the possible reasons why that man became a villain in the first place.
Also my theory on the doctor that upgraded his eyes, I think that the man in chains is the one who he wants to kill. But I hope that in the future since he was looking for a strategic man, he will choose that man and will change his fate.
