I think it's because he didn't wanna say it directly like straight up saying sorry so he used some advice by making a poem, give an apple tree, etc as a way asking for forgiveness.

Meh it makes MC a more willing doormat. "Oh im mad at him but ill forget about it because he's so hot and pitiable" really doesnt make for a compelling romance
