I think he just wants to know where Yeonjo is and keep an eye on him, to make sure he’s living fine. He doesn’t need to catch him anymore because he can’t bear the fact that he knows Yeonjo is alive, yet somehow not really. It’s like he just wants to watch from afar, as long as he knows Yeonjo is doing okay, that would be enough for him.
