this is just my hypothesis but in asian countries they take the soul very seriously. If its the same soul its the same person, even if they look and/or act differently. While in many other countries you are your memories and your thoughts/actions. If you dont have memories from that time and dont act the same then you are not the same.
Just an idea tho. And well theory two is, if this guy had the latter thought then there wouldnt be a story LOL
I don't understand why some characters wait for the other characters reincarnation just so they could get revenge. Think about it they are not the person you used to know. That's a whole new other person. Living a different life and all..
