Disappointed but not surprised with how the issue was tackled

The author seems to put all these realistic and fairly traumatic experiences in their stories without actually knowing how heavy it actually is, they just put it there for plot convenience and to make the story seem deeper than it is. But they don't actually know how deep the topics are and how one would actually act if they experience it. That's why in the story Hyesung has such a fcked up background story to make him miserable so the story can seem like a Cinderella or romanticized bs like that but the author doesn't understand the nuance and depth of what they wrote so they trivialize the rape, abuse, and neglect that they wrote into the story. They want to put it in their story but can't write it well enough to give justice. Smh.

You right bro. I expected too much from a cliche yaoi story. We should all dumb down our brains reading this

Yeah, I think you nailed it. Hyesung can be a total dunce in anything but math but his trauma is not something he can easily forgive and forget. Even pets have a learned response from bad behaviors. He can't get over it like that and give Dojin a pass. I can barely pass his response to Byul. Barely. Kid was grounded anyway.

But just like in Fargo's last story (the train wreck with the older sister,) they just spin the drama and let forgiveness happen so easily. Love is Illusion worked so well because Hyesung felt trapped, tried to give things a chance, fled because he felt trapped again, and ultimately decided to stay. Most of those decisions were within his character and backstory. Here, it's like he forgot his line and needed the cue card. I think we're all upset because the story made it work before and this just isn't measuring up.
