Tbh maybe the author wanted to tell us that he had grown a hand of it. He cant change the past and wants to think about his future with dojin and the kids. But it was still a bittersweet reaction to me. A trauma stays a trauma and if you hide it then face it… maybe he will let his emotions free when he faces his mother again (and I believe they will surely meet ( ̄へ ̄))
