My mom abandoned me when I was a child (around 11yo) I wouldn't go against my children if they want to meet her one day. I'd warn them about the person she is but it's their grandma after all. It's easy to speak when a person isn't in the situation and hard to see points of view but I get it. I also get it if Hyesung doesn't want to meet her or doesn't want Byul to meet her bc that's how my sister feels, but she can't blame a kid for wanting to see their family. I, too, in times wanted to meet her, I even tried behind my family back so it's easy to judge which is hard to comprehend
Bless you for your mature, informed perspective. I also think people just haven't read a broad range of fiction. I've read enough novels to know there are a myriad different ways people respond to situations like this, and it's not that one is necessarily more "right" than the other.
