Okay so I read this first and then reread Mayday right after and bruh fr what is up with Vasya's eyes? Are they blue or brown??? The glow he's got is probably to make him look scarier and more foreign, I don't hate it but it is kinda strange.
I actually do like the art style here, it's pretty but it gives way diff vibes compared to Mayday Mayday Mayday. Like Mayday was more comedic and this one is more serious. I kinda wonder if this one is more faithful to the novel since manhwas have a habit of putting in random comedy or comedic panels that kinda change the feel of the original novel.
I was kind of wondering though if Yoon really did avoid standing out too much like Vasya said, and yeah I did notice bits of him being like "let's just stay home" or "he draws too much attention" in Mayday. This sequel humanizes Vasya more, and I actually felt bad for him that Yoon is still scared of him. But then I reread Mayday, and I'm like I mean he did kinda tear his lip a little when threatening him that he can't really refuse the relationship. Like I mean... It kinda bad power dynamics over here. Yoon really not allowed to leave.
This story downplayed some of that I guess since Vasya already in a relationship with Yoon and head over heels for him, though it comes up with him constantly stalking him and also happily rearranging his insides literally and hurting Yoon. And the subordinates all basically saying the relationship is dubcon. I liked Mayday but now that I'm older, idk how to feel about both these stories. I think Vasya was being unfair to Yoon by saying it was him who was never serious about the relationship. Like how is he supposed to be when Vasya was always threatening him? I mean now that Vasya is more settled in his relationship with Yoon, he seems a bit more trustworthy compared to the Mayday version. Especially when we got to see even more of his human side with the 18 year old version, which was cute.
So I like this story more since Yoon also got to reconcile with his parents and found out his mom WAS on his side. I like it cuz Vasya is more humanized and sympathetic and Yoon is more comfortable to the point of making fun of Vasya a bit (with the funeral). But I still think their relationship is a bit too problematic for me now compared to when I first ready Mayday like years ago. Like please, don't happily injure Yoon with sex!! That's too wild.
Also why is Kay blond now, wasn't he stated to be a redhead in Mayday?
