I'm a professional 2D artist, trust me, most of an artist's job is selling an appealing lie half of the time you shouldn't even draw stuff realistically because it will look bad regardless if it's realistically correct.
And if you already see a drop shadow at the bottom of the pool, that means the surface wasn't seen from an angle where it reflects to the point that you can't see what's under the surface. So the artist should have either drawn a hit of the legs (or make a mirror flip of the top of the body), or not bother with the drop shadow at all, cause doing this weird mix of both looks just silly

here is an easy solution that toon me about 20 minutes - it gives the illusion of there being something in the water while absolutely ignoring physics and optics ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ
Haha a very solid take to any anonymous comment section on the internet
I also am by no means shitting on the manhua artist, all of us have our strengths and weaknesses, and they just aren't very experienced with drawing water. I just thought it was a silly decision on their part to show the depth of the water and then make it completely opaque in the same frame.
But after looking at it again, I did see that there was an attempt with the legs, just not a very good one
They'll get there at some point

1) Why the heck is he in the water with his pants on?
2) this water is so transparent that we can see a drop shadow of Barbados' floaty on the bottom of the pool, but so opaque that Eunsung's legs are cut off right at the line where they hit the water
