Also, the fact that she probably went thru really extensive therapy and counseling, telling her that the “good” memories she had with Mr. Zanuff were a form of manipulation, abuse, brainwashing, and all that mixed with ppl who prob pitied her. All that must be so confusing to her, yet the kindness from mr. Zanuff stayed in her heart. The fact that a few weeks of kindness from a man she saw smashed her mother’s head subconsciously stayed with her is so telling that she probably went thru a lot growing up. That so very few people showed her kindness. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to visit Mr. Zanuff again because she prob kept doubting herself as people around her kept telling her that her memories were wrong, that she should hate her mother’s killer but it was confirmed with the drawing that the kindness she was shown wasn’t a form of manipulation or brainwashing. I feel like that drawing finally confirmed to her that her memories were correct.
