It's possible that Kiriki and Eve switched bodies/roles. Eve might have been the previous saintess, and Kiriki the previous Demon lord ^^ There's a hint on one of the panels, (specifically pg. 8) where Eve's wearing a veil.

I'm not 100% sure, but from what I understood, it means that the roles of almlst everyone switched. Meaning, Kiriki (man) is not the game Saintess, as said by Eve and Gozu, because he just replaced someone else. Same for Gozu, but we don't know who he replaced. But by seeing that panel of the game Saintess' and Eve' faces superimposed, it is safe to assume that Eve too replaced someone else: he was supposed to be the Saintess, but ended up being the Demon King.
My own personal theory is that the character that Gozu replaced is the game hero! But again, take my theory with a grain of salt.

Actually, now that I remember the beginning, Gozu replaced a dude from an assassin squad. So Gozu is either an npc or maybe he even replaced the game Demon King!

Like Eve and Gozu explained to each other, Kiriki as a man is the current timeline's Saintess BUT he is NOT the canon game Saintess. Because male Kiriki swapped places with her. And I think, thanks to some subtext in the panels and things said here and there during the whole story so far, that Eve is the current timeline's Demon King BUT he replaced the canon Saintess, and also the way he looks is kinda the same as the OG Saintess because he swapped places with her. The game Saintess might be the person that's playing the game in Gozu's original world? I also think Eve knows something, because he started to have headaches and hurting in general the moment he was close to recall something related to the matter of this pg swapping places and faces. He remembers seeing the npc Gozu swapped with.
But since he was a npc assassin, I don't think he could have been the game Hero. But maybe he took the 'likeness' of the game Demon King.
Gozu also doesn't have powers so I think the Hero is still to be discovered.
