To any novel reader, what do you think of the adaptation of this episode which was supposed to be very important and nuanced for both Ines and Carcel? For me, they completely ignored two very important points that made Ines and Carcel’s heart-to-heart deeper, emotional and insightful. Those are:
1. Inés recognized how hurt Carcel had been by the discovery that she chose him to use him and dump him
2. Inés recognized that Cárcel already discovered the truth of why she married him and still continued to love her.
She didn’t understand how he already knew. When she saw how hurt Carcel was, that’s when she burst into tears. It’s proof to her that he still stayed with her and continued to love her despite knowing the truth.
FYI: Since people will probably ask, I bought the Korean novels so I read the actual author’s version of the novel.
