He has been affected by her in previous chapters, but came out of it quickly.
I think it's about will power mostly..after duke had heartfelt conversation with penny also since young he actually thought of penny as his daughter but huge misunderstanding and communication gap..so the guilt about losing Yvonne was slowly he came to accept and it was same for Reynold but not for Derek.
Wait so the dad is immune to Yvonne's powers??
I mean, if I were that monster inhabiting Yvonne's body, I'd try to manipulate the main guy who controls everything
But she didn't (or couldn't) do it
