I don't think it's a secret but it's not public either. The robotic guy said when they first met that information is powerful so that's how he knew and that's why he tried to get close to him and recruit him.

I think they only know the name of the empire since MC hasn’t really showed his face lately in relation to that specifically. And since everyone look down on celestials + the name (of the empire) not really clueing anyone in on the fact celestials are indeed rank 1 this happened
