Yo i was about to comment similar theory to that, Im so ghad damn sad that happened to Happy(idol). He really seemed so sweet and kind before the incident happened too and because he is still kind he accepts whatever the punishment that hapoened during that time, leading to him suffering almost every single day since that accident,
I do hope the author doesn't gloss over the fact of the story behind Happy(idol) get a proper telling of it, basically don't half as it ya know because to me SA/raped is not a light subject

I felt like the scandal that ruined his group is about him getting drugged and getting falsely accused. But using drugs in Korea is so taboo that they'll publish his name in the newspaper. The netizens act like OGHappy is some kind of nugu so maybe the scandal wasn't blown out of proportion but enough to end his career. Because even getting falsely accused is enough to end your career, what more if they've got proofs to back it up.
Adding to that theory, I think the reason he has photosensitivity is not just because of the drugs but something worse happened, maybe he was SA'd/raped and they took videos or pictures of him with flash. And everytime he sees bright lights the trauma comes back.
