lets be so fr if their ages were within the acceptable range, people would be shipping it and say it's 100% bl. the author made it ambiguous, BUT if they wanted to make it explicitly clear it's not romantic, there were def some scenes they could've removed/changed, like the undertones were there. im not arguing for this "ship"-- but the author couldve made it romantic/sexual with adults mcs as they did in the oneshot, but they didnt here. and imo the ambiguity is a good choice that makes the themes more poignant, as it highlights that people from different walks of life or ages can become profoundly connected and their love doesnt need to be either romantic, platonic, or familial to be so life-changing or fulfilling. few authors can make an ambiguous yet incredibly deep relationship that can devastate a reader within 7 chapters, yet she did it successfully, crafting one of the best short shounen ai serializations ever imo. anyway ig im her fan now, even tho i only like 2 of her works
