Exactly. While he may not be physically a fighter dog, mentally he was. Take into account the environment puppers grew up in. Not only was his dad a fighter dog, he also was taken in by a gangster pack of fighter dogs and was treated as one. That's what he believed in, he belonged in that pack and that he was one of them.That's what shaped his character. Also, both of these characters' behaviors are highly influenced by the type of animal they are.
I dont see him child like. He's just immature and naive. I mean It looks like all he did his life is to do odd jobs non stop so Ig he just doesnt have that much experience in life and probably human interactions. Also, most cats are always wary of anything right? I think that's why he's also timid

Yes, thank you. Finally someone understands what i meant. I was a big fan of the author's previous story. Kinda disappointed how weak and one dimensional the cats personality is in this one. Even tho cats are supposed to have a strong personality than dogs tho i wouldn't have actually mind if he was at least somewhat well written.

I see what you mean, the cat's personality in this one doesn't make him stand out/feel as well rounded like it did the other story. The other story explored a character having a tough exterior with a soft/vulnerable inner feelings. With this one, you almost want a sense of inner toughness and resilience to balance how soft the bottom's first impression is. Maybe some more aloofness would have been acceptable since he is a cat.
