I’ve realized this too after keeping in touch with the story since it came out. It was always so good with making the racial discrimination in their world very realistic. Which is impressive because not a lot of authors are able to portray that in their work without making it the main focal point in their writings.
Damn... Even the furry world has racial discrimination... Araya making our mouse protag change the species of his character from mouse to rabbit reminds me of how a lot of american comic artists got pressure from editors to make the skin of black characters lighter and the hair straighter. Bullshit is bullshit everywhere.
