People who read the novel will say that he is misunderstood but as a fellow who use irl logic to read novels, I agree with u. And I swear, they write bl novels like politicians. They are so good at twisting things and brainwashing us.
I truly don't think there's any saving for that older brother character like... Idc how much he could "change" because of love or shit, but forcing his younger brother into beastiality and so nonchalant about the possibility of raping his own brother, nah this trash is irredeemable, lock him up.
