this isn’t just about cheating

This story is way more emotionally complicated than just cheating, and too many western yaoi fans read stuff like this through a western lens. Bandou feels like he’s required to have this marriage of convenience because without it he would be socially ostracized for being gay. He believes being gay is not an option for him whatsoever because he’s an adult, and needs to be married. Miho put herself in this situation by continuing to pursue and marry a man she knew was gay and in love with Toshi who was married with a kid. Japan is not equivalent to America on its attitudes towards queer people, despite the popularity queer fiction. Idk man, just think about the societal commentary the work is making before you denounce it for being all about cheating.
