The author probably want to give the story more drama, but also doesn't want to make the MC too toxic, maybe that's why they decide to make the ML to be more sensitive with his feeling, have some trauma with people in the past, so he will still run away even with smallest mistake
They can choose Better drama, but if the author decide to make the Dohu make other mistake that more unforgivable, some reader probably will say that Juheon deserve someone better
But whatever the choice they give for MC's mistake, it will not change the author decision to make time skip and misunderstanding for both of them XD

Honestly yeah, although i do think it first his character to not move on. Its written to show that Dohu either completely doesnt care and overlooks something, or he gets hyper fixated to the point where he disregards social norms. Narratively, it does make sense that he is the chaser
Dohu needs to MOVE ON.
It's always him desperately chasing after Juheon, both in the first and second seasons.
If Juheon doesn't want you anymore, move on with your life.
It's not like Dohu committed a deadly crime, nor is it like he had a horrible relationship with Juheon where he treated him badly.
If he can't forgive you, that's his right.
