She eventually falls for him at the end of the book and I think she ends up as the dutchess.
She has loved him for a while now, but she has just refused to admit it. She ended up with him at the end and they both love each other.

I remember I stopped reading it after I realized that she actually never even liked him to begin with; with the blackmail and everything….she just ended up with Stockholm syndrome at the end ( I don’t know if I’m making sense but was very disappointed with this story cause the art is beautiful)
Tragic, that is something I’m noticing too. I don’t think I can cope with this. When a woman stays with her abused is an always a loss. If the art wasn’t so beautiful, everyone would call this trash.
